Niskin bottle
A Niskin bottle is a sampling instrument that collects samples in the water column at various depths. Comprising a tube and watertight plugs, a triggering mechanism closes the valves at the desired depth. Subsequently, a valve allows for the retrieval of the sample, which can then be analyzed.
