AdaLitt-Breizh Project
Citizen science as tools for improving knowledge and adapting to climate change on the Brittany coastline.
As part of the FEDER-FSE+Bretagne program 2021-2027.
Project managers : : Mouncef Sedrati

Length of the project : September 2023 - Today (24 month)
Presentation
The AdaLitt-Breizh project aims to develop the approach of citizen science on the Brittany coast by involving citizens in the observation of their shores and in monitoring suitable protection or rehabilitation solutions along the coastline. Data collection by citizens is carried out through the protocols of the Citizen Observatory of the Morbihan Coast (OCLM) and the coastal surveillance photo system called CoastSnap. The project also includes an aspect focused on awareness and enhancing knowledge about climate change adaptation, by supporting soft management approaches such as nature-based solutions.
Objectives
- Developing new OCLM and CoastSnap sites along the Breton coastline to enhance the understanding of the evolution of coastal systems and climate change.
- Raising awareness and providing information on citizen science, coastal challenges, and nature-based solutions.
- Supporting and promoting coastal management approaches based on soft solutions and eco-engineering in Brittany.
